Optimized for Video Surveillance
The Vess A7800 storage appliance is specifically designed for medium to large scale IP video surveillance deployments; ideal for surveillance systems in banks, shopping malls, casinos, factories, warehouses, commercial, residential, government or private enterprises. The subsystems are capable of continuous recording and playback without dropping frames. Video data is protected with PromiseRAID on the Vess A7600 and any additional capacity on the Vess R Series.
Improved design for efficiency and scalability
Two options are available for high capacity hard drive enclosures: 3U 16 drives (Vess A7600) and 4U 24 drives (Vess A7800). Intel E5 CPUs combined with Promise Technology know-how create an excellent combination of performance and reliability for medium to large surveillance deployments. For larger storage system requirements, it is cost-effective to use Promise JBOD to expand capacity without the additional cost of an additional RAID server.

Predictive Playback: Take advantage of idle recording time to monitor read patterns to predict when the next playback is needed so that the hard drive does not compete with the system’s workload.
- Remote Active Service: Eliminate worries by proactively detecting when the PSU, controller, or HDD is in a critical condition and automatically notifying the user of the hardware status. A major advantage in location-constrained settings, such as banks, as it not only saves maintenance costs but also saves the hassle of having outside support staff access restricted areas.
- Sequential Recording: Eliminates the heavy workload caused by random recording patterns; this feature monitors recording patterns and collects data in the buffer memory and writes the data to the drive after a full strip is ready. This creates a sequential recording pattern that delivers the smoothest performance.

To address the demand for Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) in the surveillance market, the Vess A7600 series supports multiple add-in graphics cards with embedded GPUs to meet the performance requirements of such advanced projects in the field.
