Versatile
The Vess A8120 can perform one of three roles on a surveillance network: Management Server, Recording Server, or IVA (Intelligent Video Analytics) Server. As a management server, the Vess A8120 can be a standalone management server that manages over 300 cameras/devices across a surveillance network. As a recording server, the Vess A8120 can run the user’s preferred recording software and have recorded video data stored in the Vess A8120 or PROMISE storage hardware for future playback.
Expandable
The Vess A8120 is a 1U 4-bay rack-mount hardware solution that allows for easy storage expansion using additional storage hardware. PROMISE Vess R3600 and Vess J3600 have been certified and tested with the Vess A8120. The Vess R3600 and up to 12 Vess J3600 JBODs can add up to 208 HDDs to a Vess A8120 deployment.

- Predictive Playback: Take advantage of idle recording time to monitor read patterns to predict when the next playback is needed so that the hard drive does not compete with the system’s workload.
- Remote Active Service: Eliminate worries by proactively detecting when the PSU, controller, or HDD is in a critical condition and automatically notifying the user of the hardware status. A major advantage in location-constrained settings, such as banks, as it not only saves maintenance costs but also saves the hassle of having outside support staff access restricted areas.
- Sequential Recording: Eliminates the heavy workload caused by random recording patterns; this feature monitors recording patterns and collects data in a buffer and writes the data to the drive once a full strip is ready. This creates a sequential recording pattern that provides the smoothest performance.
