Detailed steps to install and view Hanwha cameras on PC

Step 1: Download Wisenet Viewer software
1.1 System Requirements
Before installing Wisenet Viewer software, you need to check your system. If your system does not meet the minimum requirements, the program will not work.

1.2 Download Wisenet Viewer
Download Wisenet Viewer camera viewing software from Hanwha Vision official website to your PC.

1.3 Launch the software
After the installation is complete, you can start launching the software to use. There are 2 ways to launch the software:
+ Method 1: Through the shortcut icon: Double-click the Wisenet Viewer software icon on the home screen.
+ Method 2: Select the Window icon > Select Wisenet Viewer.
Note: When running Wisenet Viewer on any MacOS operating system for the first time, there will be a notification window “License Agreement”. Select accept and click OK. If the user does not agree to this agreement, they will not be able to access Wisenet Viewer.
Step 2: Set password and login
2.1 Password Setting
After launching the software, you need to set the administrator password.
1. Select the desired Language from the Language options in the application.
2. The Set Administrator Password window appears > Set Password.

Password Notes:
- If the password length should be 8 to 9 characters, it must contain 3 of the following elements: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
- If the password is 10 or more characters long, it must contain 2 of the following elements: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
- ID cannot be used as a password.
- There is no limit to the use of special characters.
- Do not use 4 or more consecutive characters (e.g., 1234, abcd).
- Do not use the same character four or more times in a row (e.g., !!!!, 1111, abcd).
- Do not use space characters.
3. Re-enter the password.
4. Select OK.
Note:
- You cannot reset it so please save your password.
- If you forget your password, you will need to reinstall Wisenet Viewer.
2.2 Log in to Wisenet Viewer
1. The login screen appears > Enter your ID and password.

2. Click login.
Step 3: Device Management
With Wisenet Viewer software, you can allocate the registered devices above into a group and manage them. At the same time, you can also update or backup the firmware of the registered device.
3.1 Device Registration
There are 3 methods to register a device on the software:
- Automatic registration
– Register via the function button
1. Click the function button and select Auto register.
2. When the login window appears > Enter the ID and password of the device.
3. Select OK.

If the ID/password information has not been registered on Wisenet Viewer, the Login information input window will appear. If the ID/password information has been registered, the device that has been automatically registered in the Root section will be displayed.
– Register via Resource Tree
1. Right-click on the Root section of the Resource Tree.
2. Select Auto Register.

- Manual Registration
You can register by entering the device information directly into the software.
1. Right-click on the Root item of the Resource Tree.
2. Select Add Device.
3. When the Add Device screen of the Setup menu appears, select the Manual tab.

4. Enter the information of the device to be registered.
5. Select the Register button.
6. To close the Add Device window, select the Close button.
- Register via DDNS/P2P
You can enter the product ID to register the device.
– Check Product ID
If you set up a DDNS address on the connected recorder, the product ID information that can be connected remotely will be displayed.
1. In the Setup > Network > IP & Port > Port menu of the recorder, select Protocol Type to TCP.
2. In the Setup > Network menu of the recorder, set the Wisenet DDNS & P2P item to On.
– Register via Function Button
1. Click the function button and select Register DDNS & P2P.
2. When the information input window is displayed, enter the product ID, device login ID and password, then select use DTLS.
3. Select the Register button.

3.2 Backup Device
To save device backup files on Hanwha camera viewing software on computer, perform the following steps:
1. Select the setup icon in the function button panel.
2. When the Setup window appears, Select Device > Maintenance.
3. Select the Backup tab.

4. Select a device to back up.

5. Select the Backup button.
6. Set the path to save the backup file > select the Select folder button.
7. Enter the backup password if the password entry window appears.
8. Click OK.

3.3 Restore Device
This software allows users to use the backup file stored on the PC to restore the device.
1. Select the settings icon in the function button panel.
2. When the Setup window appears, Select Device > Maintenance.
3. Select the Restore tab.

4. Select the device you want to restore.

5. Select the arrow icon.
6. Select the backup file and click the Open button.
7. Select the Restore button.
8. Enter the backup password if the password entry window appears.
9. Select the OK button.

Step 4: Search for Video Events
4.1 Search for Recorded Events
You can search for recorded event videos by selecting the device, date, and event type.
1. Select the search icon in the function button panel. If you select event search from the timeline shortcut menu, the event search bar will be displayed.
2. When the event search window appears, select Device > Select the desired camera from the device list.

3. Click the calendar icon in the Date & time section to select the start and end dates for your search.

4. Click on Event type to select the event to search.

5. Select the Search button. If you double-click on a search result, the video will play in the right frame.

4.2 AI Search
You can search for videos recorded by the AI-enabled camera connected to the memory by identifying people, faces, vehicles, etc. In addition, you can filter the search results by details based on the selected object.
- Search for videos by AI
1. Select the AI search icon in the Function button panel. Click … at the top of the Event Search window and select AI search to open the AI search page.
2. When the AI search window appears, select Device. Select the desired camera from the device list.

3. Click the calendar icon in the Date & time section to select the start and end dates for your search.
4. Select the type of object to search for.

5. Select the Search button. Search results are displayed as thumbnails.
6. You can select filters to filter the search results.

Filter list can be applied by object such as:
– Person: Gender, Clothing color (Shirt/Pants), Bag
– Face: Gender, Age, Glasses, Mask
– Vehicle: Vehicle type and color
– LPR: Enter license plate number
7. Double-clicking on the thumbnail or list item will play the recorded video on the right side
- Filter by specific BestShot attributes
1. Hover over the video that best matches your search criteria and select the filter icon.
2. After selecting the desired attribute, select the Apply button. (You can filter the object by selecting the attributes that BestShot has).

3. Double click on the thumbnail or list item will play the recorded video on the right side.
4.3 Smart Search
You can search for events by: Including Area, Excluding Area and Virtual Line among the recorded videos within a specific time period.
1. Select the smart search icon in the function button panel. Click at the top of the Event Search window and select Smart Search to open the Smart Search page.
2. When the Smart Search window appears, select the channel you want to search for events.

3. Select the search area setting icon at the bottom and drag the mouse to set the desired area.

4. Set the date and time frame to search on the timeline > Tap the search icon.

The event search results are displayed in the list on the right and the event video will be played when selecting the search result.
